Forged Nakiri – Blackjack

This is our Nakiri, hand-forged by Joe and Jimmy in Somerset, England. 

HANDLE: Made out of Maldon Sea Salt's waste plastic. The plastic is collected, washed, shredded and melted into the handle shape. No two handles will ever be the same, so yours is a one-off. 

BLADE: Nakiri (forged)
This is a traditional Japanese vegetable knife. The kurouchi also known as the 'blacksmiths finish' is black scale that has been left on the blade. This is to prevent rusting (but we think it also looks great).

STEEL: 52100 (British)
This is an incredibly sharp high carbon British steel and holds an edge well. Please note this blade is hand-wash only.
